Expertise

We have come to recognize that our knowledge of facility management for churches and schools is the single most valuable asset that we bring to our customers.  We are extraordinarily dedicated to professional development and log hundreds of hours per year in training, professional networking and certifications.  We attend annual national conferences and seminars; we are involved in and sit on boards of local facility management associations; and we encourage and support all of our employee efforts to further their training and knowledge. Our management staff meets twice monthly for the expressed purposes of sharing happenings and lessons learned from all of our customers.

"In-Sourcing Model"

We are mission driven to understand your facilities and to find the most effective results within the most efficient model.  This model, "In-Sourcing" is the means by which we deliver our promise, and deliver in ways that no other model can deliver.  If you choose to provide these services with in-house staff, there are great benefits, but you will also make unnecessary sacrifices.  The same is true of a traditional out-source model of service delivery. With the SchoolFM model you can expect the best of both models:

Traditional In-House Model

Advantages

Disadvantages

Owner controls the process   Inadequate supervision and training

Owner controls the cost

Purchase services in 40 hour increments

Staff is flexible for varying tasks   Difficult to change when it is not working
Work from a fixed budget   No staff incentive to excel

 Traditional Out-Source Model

Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development is a commitment that begins at the top of an organization. Does your administration require that the facility management and maintenance team participate regularly in outside training; in internal training; in routine staff meetings; in professional associations; in professional certification and accreditation programs? The depth of knowledge and skill required to run a facility today is staggering. It is not enough to know that air conditioner filters need to be changed regularly. Maintaining for energy efficiency and for environmental health requires knowledge of theory, maintenance and operation skill and experience, regulatory compliance, trends, and today, more than ever, an understanding of sustainable design and operations. And this is just for air conditioning! How does one become the master of so many trades? One doesn’t. Many do.
